After Tuesday’s guilty plea, Ellis posted, “God is good all the time. Even in the midst of an evil world. Psalm 91.” Online, some commenters mocked her “crocodile tears” and noted how she placed blame on other people.
Of the 19 defendants in the Georgia case, four have now flipped on the former president. Three, including Ellis, are lawyers who might provide damaging evidence against Trump, according to some analysts.
But Trump attorney Steve Sadow said Ellis’ plea actually helps his client, who isn’t mentioned in the conduct to which Ellis admitted. Sadow said this latest plea indicates that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is using the racketeering charge as “a bargaining chip.”
