Fox News host Pete Hegseth recited a prayer from the Hallow app for Lent this past Sunday on “Fox & Friends.”

The prayer was part of the “Fox & Friends” Sunday Prayer Series. Hallow, a Catholic meditation and prayer app, is a sponsor of the series.

“This is a transition for transitions,” the 43-year-old Hegseth, who sat alongside cohosts Rachel Campos-Duffy and Will Cain, told viewers. “It is very ‘Fox & Friends,’ so ready your heart.”

Hegseth proceeded to inform everyone that it was the fifth Sunday of Lent and said, “Our prayer series continues with a reading of prayer from the Hallow app. We all need it. Let’s do it this morning.”

“Close your eyes and if you would bow your head,” Hegseth said before leading his cohosts and viewers in the prayer from the app.

“Jesus, today we begin the holy period of Passiontide. In these last two weeks of Lent, help us understand the mystery of your sacrifice and surrender,” Hegseth prayed. “Make us keenly aware of your love for us. We ask that you make yourself known to us.”

Hegseth continued, “Help us to feel the grace of your presence. You journeyed to the cross for our sake. May we see ourselves the way you see us and come to believe that we are worthy of your abounding love.”

“And these final days of Lent, help us to follow your holy example,” he recited. “Aspire in us the same sacrificial, selfless love you showed on the cross. Oh, Jesus, we surrender ourselves to you. Take care of everything. Amen.”

During a 2022 interview with Faithwire, Hegseth shared the importance of sharing Jesus with his children.

“I’ve got a bunch of kids, and you start to realize that the only thing that matters is introducing them to Jesus Christ,” he said. “You spend so much time teaching them how to dribble a basketball or to love America and those are all great, but they’re utterly insufficient.”
