After Ferguson’s original post about Furtick’s Easter sweater and haircut drew criticism from those who thought he was needlessly attacking Furtick, Ferguson posted a follow-up video.
In the video, Ferguson noted that he had not said anything negative about Furtick’s character or preaching—although he said he could have. However, he said, “one of the things we got to accept here is that everything that happens in the pulpit at [Elevation Church]…is a choice.”
“There’s intention put behind a lot of that stuff. People think about what they wear in the pulpit; people think about how they are presenting in the pulpit,” he continued, going on to note that the “roasting” he gave Furtick is what he could have expected in any Black-owned barber shop.

Ferguson added, “Beloved, live a little bit. It’s gonna bless your life. The haircut and the sweater combo was funny; I don’t care what you say.”
