Livingston Addressed More Than Politics
Livingston reminded the congregation how Jesus gave power and authority to 72 disciples as they spread his message (found in Luke 10:17-20). He then went onto address a number of concerns he had about how believers have “lost our discipline.”
“This whole country’s gone casual. This is a sloppy country,” Livingston said. “Before you go to a restaurant, you’re supposed to take your pajamas off. Before you get on an airplane, you’re supposed to put some clothes on.”
This same casualness has “seeped into the church,” and many believers are unsure of what to do or how to act in certain situations .
“If you don’t read the Bible and if you don’t have a prayer life, you will be confused about everything,” said Livingston.
He listed a number of current social topics, including the LGBTQ+ community and abortion, that would be easier for believers to understand and address if they committed to reading the Bible and praying more regularly.
