“It just dawned on me that here I was on stage that night singing for all these people…[and] they’re all fighting a different kind of a battle,” he said. “And they’re all lifting their hands and praying and worshiping and believing that we have a God who hears us when we pray. And so that’s really what helped fuel this song.” The chorus to the song says:

Don’t stop praying
Don’t stop calling on Jesus’ name
Keep on pounding on Heaven’s door
And let your knees wear out the floor
Don’t stop believing
’Cause mountains move with just a little faith
And your Father’s hеard every single word you’rе saying
So, don’t stop praying

West also used his song to comment on the recent controversy at the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, which featured a drag performance inspired in part by Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, “The Last Supper.” The performance outraged Christians across the world, leading to an apology from event organizers. 

West posted a video of himself singing, “Don’t Stop Praying,” under parallel images of “The Last Supper” and the drag performance. The caption said, “Do not be misled- no one makes a fool of God” (Galatians 6:7).
