Prestonwood Pastor and HUD Secretary Scott Turner Quotes Scripture at CPAC, Pledges To Be ‘Servant Leader’

On Turner’s first day as HUD secretary, he halted former President Biden’s Equal Access Rule. Now federally funded housing projects such as shelters must offer services based on an individual’s sex assigned at birth.

“We are carrying out the mission laid out by President Trump on Jan. 20, when he signed an executive order to restore biological truth to the federal government,” Turner said. “This means getting the government out of the way of what the Lord established from the very first day, when he created man in his own image, male and female.”

Over the weekend, President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance both spoke at CPAC. Trump expressed enthusiasm about recent mass firings of federal employees. After the president used an expletive to describe Biden’s administration policies, he said evangelical Christian advisers have asked him not to use profanity.

During an interview, VP Vance lamented how American culture attacks masculinity. “Don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man, because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends, or because you’re competitive,” he told young men.

Our society “wants to turn everybody, whether male or female, into androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same, and act the same,” Vance added. “We [conservatives] actually think God made male and female for a purpose. We want you guys to thrive as young men and as young women, and we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that.”
