The 58-year-old Tait, who is best known for his work alongside TobyMac and Kevin Max in their iconic 90s rap/rock/pop band DC Talk, has been relatively quiet on social media since announcing his departure from the band.
“While this may come as a surprise given I’ve been touring ever since college,” Tait told his fans in his announcement, “l’ve made for me what is a monumental and heartfelt decision that it is time to step down from Newsboys.”
While Tait didn’t provide specifics, he said, “I am excited about what [the future] holds for both myself, and for Newsboys, as we all seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.”
