KHOU 11 News reported in December that Suppes has a criminal history in Colorado but none in Harris County, Texas. An article from KNOP News reports that, in 2015, a 24-year-old Colorado man named Aaron Suppes was allegedly driving a stolen car when he hit the vehicle of a Nebraska state trooper, who had pulled over a different driver for speeding. The state trooper and the other driver were not injured.

Suppes had allegedly stolen or attempted to steal multiple cars before the collision. During one of those carjacking incidents, he told a Kum & Go clerk there was a bomb and he needed her car keys.

At the time, Suppes was reportedly charged with “aggravated assault with a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, willful reckless driving, resisting arrest and driving under the influence.” He took a plea deal and received “a $5,500 fine, 60 day jail sentence and his [license] was revoked for six months.”
