‘American Idol’ Finalist Breanna Nix Tops Apple’s Country Chart With Single ‘Higher’

“Yes the glitz and the glamour for your reward in heaven will be greater than any on this earth,” she said. “Stay focused young man. I’m praying and keeping you covered.”

“I’m still trying to process this… God is so good. 🙏🏾” Roberts said in a post of his own. “From my first step on that stage to this unbelievable moment, I never dreamed a kid from my hometown would one day be called American Idol.”

“This journey has been bigger than me,” said Roberts, “and I’m so grateful for every person who believed in me when I was just chasing a dream.” During the finale, Roberts performed his new single “Heal,” originally by Tom Odell.

Roberts holds the No. 1 spot on Apple’s Songs chart as of this writing, with Nix’s “Higher” ranking No. 9. A few other familiar faces appear near them on the chart, with Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll’s version of “Hard Fought Hallelujah” at No. 5, and Forrest Frank’s “YOUR WAY’S BETTER” at No. 8.

“Higher” is Nix’s cover of singer-songwriter and producer Toby Lightman’s song. Nix currently holds the No. 4 position on Apple’s Country chart behind Jelly Roll at No. 3, Blake Shelton at No. 2 position, and Morgan Wallen at No. 1.
