After Chan shared his struggles with insecurity, he began to speak more about it at conferences and found a remarkable number of Christians—and pastors—continue to struggle with insecurity of faith.
When he asked how many pastors were “only like 80% sure” they were loved by Jesus, three-quarters of the room stood up.
It broke Chan’s heart to see how the “enemy has so messed with us” and how he could have perpetuated insecurity within his church. Chan realized, “If I was so focused on my own actions rather than his, then I probably helped lead a generation that’s focused on their actions rather than his.”
“I got to rectify that,” said Chan as he renewed his passion to “help people really understand how much God loves them.”
