Protesters regularly appeared at Solid Rock in the months after Mica’s death demanding “justice for Mica.” On Nov. 6, Miller was arrested and charged with third-degree assault of one of those protesters. He was released on a $776 bond Nov. 7 after appearing in court.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, Miller was in court to seek restraining orders against three “Justice for Mica” protesters, including the woman involved in the altercation that led to Miller’s November arrest. However, the judge ultimately denied Miller’s request.
Solid Rock Church has since shut down and its building was sold for $2.15 million. Miller has reportedly started a new church.
Controversy has continued to follow the pastor, however. In a lawsuit filed Feb. 25, plaintiff Jane Doe No. 1 alleged that Miller raped her in 1998 when she was 15 years old and he was a leader at a church she was visiting. She also claims that he assaulted her again in 2023. The lawsuit accuses Miller’s father, church leader Reginald Wayne Miller, of being a sexual predator.
In a second lawsuit filed March 5, a different woman accused Miller of sexually assaulting her twice between 1999 and 2001 while she was 14 years old and Miller was a 19-year-old teacher at a Christian school.
In an affidavit, Miller’s ex-wife, Alison Williams, said that Miller told her about his alleged inappropriate sexual conduct with underage girls, and she also said church officials had instructed Miller to seek treatment for sexual addiction.
What’s more, Williams claimed that Skinner and Miller were having an affair while Chris and Mica were still alive and that Chris had confronted Miller, telling him to leave Chris’ family alone.
Chris Skinner, a quadriplegic, drowned in 2021 at the age of 41. At the time, his death was ruled to be accidental, but this year both the Horry County Coroner’s Office and the Myrtle Beach Police Department (MBPD) confirmed they were investigating new evidence in Skinner’s death.
In April, the MBPD said it had closed its case. When ChurchLeaders reached out to the Horry County Coroner’s Office, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed that the investigation into Skinner’s death “is still ongoing and has not closed since it was reopened in January of 2025 when Chris’s family brought information forward questioning his manner of death.”
In November 2024, Miller was seen with Suzie Skinner the day after the FBI raided his home, but he denied rumors that he had married her. In April, Miller admitted that he and Suzie were together but said they did not start dating until 2025.
