According to Fox 4, the phone sex operator, who has remained anonymous, told police that Mustain provided his real name and phone number on a Skype account he used for phone sex services.
The woman said that Mustain had sent her photos of fully clothed small children, ages 7 and under, and expressed his fantasies about them. She contacted police after Mustain allegedly sent her a picture of what appeared to be a nude 6-year-old girl.
Police obtained a warrant to search Mustain’s electronic devices and found multiple “offensive images” in his possession.
Mustain faces four counts of possession of lewd visual material depicting children and one count of possession of CSAM. According to Texas Scorecard, Mustain was allegedly in possession of more than 50 images or videos of CSAM.
In a statement posted to Preston Trail Community Church’s website, Pastors Jim Johnson and Paul Basden confirmed that Mustain served as a community pastor for the church from 2019-2023.
“We are deeply saddened and disturbed by these charges and unequivocally condemn any form of sexual misconduct,” the pastors said.
“During Mustain’s time on our staff, Preston Trail had no knowledge of any behavior or activity related to these charges,” the statement continued. “Nevertheless, immediately upon learning of the allegations, we retained a third-party law firm to conduct a thorough, independent investigation.”
