Morrill is a “soldier in his professional life” and a “soldier for the truth,” Cunningham said. Noting that Morrill publishes on Protestia, the pastor said, “It is through him that I have learned the proliferation of all these doctrinal downgrades, whether it be partnering with He Gets Us or it be [egalitarians] in the pastorate.”
“It is his dedication to the truth and dedication to the true gospel of Jesus Christ that I stand before you nervous as I possibly ever have been to tell you that I cannot implore you enough to elect David Morrill as your next president,” said Cunningham.
After the two nominations, messengers cast their ballots for either of the two candidates. At the time of the vote, 10,495 messengers were registered. The number of messengers who cast their ballots was 6,009. Pressley received 5,567 votes, or 92.64% of the total. Morrill received 408 votes, or 6.79%. Thirty-four ballots were disallowed.
