A Christian school teacher has been accused of possessing child sex abuse material (CSAM) and animal pornography. David McKeown, 47, had been working as a sixth grade teacher at United Brethren in Christ (UBIC) Academy in Holly Hill, Florida.

McKeown has been charged with 19 enhanced felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and six counts of possession of animal pornography.

UBIC Academy is part of a church of the same name. According to The Roys Report (TRR), Dr. Joshua McKeown, who is the principal/administrator for UBIC Academy and a pastor of a church affiliated with UBIC Church, is David McKeown’s brother.
Also according to TRR, several others from the McKeown family are involved in leadership at the school and church.
According to a press release, the Holly Hill Police Department launched an investigation earlier this month after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Investigators believe that McKeown used generative AI to “create CSAM with real children, some of whom may have attended UBIC Academy.”
The investigation found that McKeown was allegedly distributing and downloading CSAM and chatting with other users on Discord during school hours while connected to the school’s Wi-Fi.
McKeown is accused of sharing 19 images of CSAM and nine images of himself “engaging in sexual acts with the family pet.”
The investigation into possible further offenses is ongoing.
“As a teacher, parents trusted Mr. McKeown to impart knowledge to their children,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “Instead, he spent parts of the school day sending and receiving child sex abuse material and providing other pedophiles with UBIC Academy students’ personal information.”
