“Is there one step of grace or just some bit more grace you could give Val?” Bure’s son asked her. “And [to] Val, is there any more grace you can give Mom? Is there one more act of kindness, one more gesture…ounce of kindness, goodness in you that you could give to try to reconcile?”
“We walked away from that,” said Bure, “and, you know, Val and I were like…‘Huh, we raised some pretty good kids.’ You know, it was so in our face, but that was the pivotal moment. It really changed for us after that talk.”
“There was a lot more to it,” she added, “but, you know, it’s a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to have a talk and go, ‘Are you being as mature as you can be?’”
Pokluda asked Lev if Lev was “nervous” confronting his parents about their marriage. “Not really,” Lev answered. “I think it came from, y’know, a point of love, and even when my siblings and I talked about it, it was like, man, we want more than anything for our parents to be together.”
“But like, let’s get to the matter of fact: It’s only going to happen through Jesus,” he said, “and so that was all we could point them to.”
After a moment, Lev said, “You got me emotional over here.”
“I know,” said Pokluda. “I was like, that’s going to be the first podcast I cry in.”
