Chip reposted that post Sunday, commenting, “On our way to church.. Y’all enjoy this beautiful Sunday!”

Bivocational Pastor Michael Moore, who runs the Honest Youth Pastor account, encouraged Christians to pray for the Gaines, that they would repent if needed and that the Holy Spirit would guide them.

Jay Haizlip, the founder and lead pastor of The Sanctuary Church in Orange County, California, told Chip: “You invited conversation, so here’s my honest, respectful question…What’s the biblical strategy here?”

“You’ve platformed a same-sex married couple raising children on your network,” said Haizlip. “As a pastor who loves people deeply and holds to radical biblical obedience, I’m asking: What’s the goal?”

“Are we going to watch them encounter Jesus?” he asked. “Are we going to see repentance and a transformed life that reflects biblical Christianity?”

“Because I’ve known people in same-sex marriages who got radically saved—left the relationship, and chose to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. That’s not hate. That’s the power of the Gospel. That’s grace and truth,” Haizlip said. “If this is about redemption—praise God. But if it’s about normalization, that’s not the Gospel. That’s the kind of deception Paul warned Timothy about in the last days—a form of godliness, but denying its power.”
