Pastor Greg Laurie: ‘There’s a Spiritual Hunger in Our Nation’

The strong turnout at last Saturday’s Harvest Crusade is indicative of what’s happening throughout the country, according to Pastor Greg Laurie. “There’s a spiritual hunger in our nation, and there’s a spiritual hunger in California,” he told attendees. “And I believe that God wants to do another great work in this state that we call the Golden State. The last great spiritual awakening happened here…and I pray it will happen again.”

As depicted in the 2023 movie “Jesus Revolution,” Laurie came to faith during the Jesus Movement in Southern California during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The pastor’s next big outreach event is just weeks away. On Aug. 16, the third annual Jesus Revolution Baptism will take place at Pirate’s Cove Beach. At the first mass-baptism event in July 2023, Laurie baptized 4,500 people at the beach, located in Corona Del Mar, California.
