NY Jets QB Justin Fields Is ‘Low-Key Addicted’ to Reading the Bible

Fields, who grew up in Atlanta, credits his parents with instilling in him a strong Christian faith. After declaring for the draft in January 2021, he wrote:

God blessed me with the greatest support system anyone could have. My parents have sacrificed any and everything to put me in a position to follow my dreams. I can never truly repay them, but I hope I’ve made them proud; I will continue to strive daily to be a “light on the hill,” as I was raised.

The QB, who often wears gear proclaiming “Humble Over Hype,” has a tattoo of 1 John 1:9—his father’s favorite Bible verse—on his chest.

In 2023, when GQ asked Fields about his top 10 essentials for life, he listed his Bible app first. “Just kind of how I like to get my day started off,” the athlete said.
