The student answers, “Well, a woman is a lady friend who, you know, kisses…”
“You see, you can’t answer the question,” Donavan interrupts. “But something is male or it is female. Both sides and Scripture agree to that, and that’s just the truth! Next.”
The debate part of the episode culminates in the awarding of The Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters, an award in the shape of Kirk’s likeness. Donavan is named the recipient of the award and gives an acceptance speech saying, “Thanks, everyone. The Civil Rights Act was a huge mistake, and, I don’t know, lesbians are an abomination of God.”
Kirk reacted to the “South Park” episode during his “The Charlie Kirk Show” the day after it aired. “For those that don’t understand, ‘South Park’ is very popular…it has a lot of cultural power,” he said. “Obviously, they’re very nasty towards conservatives, they were very nasty towards President Trump in the prior episode.”
“But I personally think a lot of it was hilarious towards me. I think I gotta be honest. So it was very funny and I don’t think we should have too thin of skin,” he continued.
After listening to the first debate in the episode, Kirk reacted by saying, “First, I just think it’s hilarious. Secondly, the whole thing is like, wait, so a campus thing I’ve been doing for 13 years to debate random college kids has now been so important that it gets prominent prime time placement on Comedy Central?”
“I think the whole thing is just awesome and hilarious,” Kirk added.
Kirk told “South Park” writers that they “crushed” mimicking how he drinks water. “I compulsively drink water on campus,” he said. Kirk also expressed that the show got the Bible right next to him on the table correct. “I even said on this campus tour,” he said, “I was gonna bring a Holy Bible with me to every single campus stop.”
Another debate segment, where Cartman cites Jeremiah 1:5, drew praise from Kirk for getting the Scripture verse correct. “The verse is right…Jeremiah 1:5: ‘Before I formed you in the wound. I knew you before you were born. I consecrated to you. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations,’” Kirk said. “It’s like, they got the verse right. Oh, my goodness.”
