Erika Kirk Says ‘Evildoers’ Sparked a Fire
In the second part of her tribute, Erika Kirk expressed determination to continue her husband’s fight. “The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done,” she said, standing next to his desk. Kirk continued:
They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love. They should all know this: If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you had no idea. You [have] no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country, in this world…You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.
Kirk promised listeners, “No one will ever forget my husband’s name, and I will make sure of it. It will become stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever. My husband’s mission will not end, not even for a moment…We’ll never surrender.”
Regarding Turning Point USA, Kirk said this fall’s campus tour will continue, as will the annual AmericaFest event in December and Charlie’s radio show and podcast. “In a world filled with chaos, doubt, and uncertainty, my husband’s voice will remain,” said Kirk. “And it will ring out louder and more clearly than ever, and his wisdom will endure.”
Kirk urged young people to join or start a Turning Point USA chapter and told pastors to join Turning Point USA Faith. “Most important of all,” she said, “if you aren’t a member of a church, I beg you to join one, a Bible-believing church. Our battle is not simply a political one. Above all, it is spiritual.”
No one is too young or too old to hear the gospel, added Kirk. “Charlie loved his Savior with all of his heart, and he wanted every one of you to know him too,” she said. “He wanted everyone to know that if they confess…the Lord Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead, then they will be saved.” Kirk rejoiced that her husband is now “alongside Jesus…doing what you always wanted to do…making heaven crowded.”
Kirk closed by promising her husband, “I will never let your legacy die…I promise I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen.” She told Charlie, “Rest in the arms of our Lord, as he blanketed you with the words I know your heart always strived to hear: ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant.’”
Erika Kirk Shares Photos by Husband’s Casket
Responses to Erika Kirk’s comments fell largely along partisan lines. Supporters praised her strength and courage, while critics said her message sounded divisive and threatening.
In a Sept. 10 Instagram post, Kirk echoed her tribute. “The world is evil,” she wrote. “But our Savior. Our Lord. Our God. He…He is so good.” Photos in that post show Kirk mourning by Charlie’s casket and holding his hand.
“The sound of this widow weeping [echoes] throughout this world like a battle cry,” wrote Kirk. “They have no idea what they just ignited within this wife. … You. All of you. Will never. Ever. Forget my husband @charliekirk1776 I’ll make sure of it.”
The memorial service for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for Sept. 21 at State Farm Stadium outside Phoenix. President Trump has said he will attend to honor his close friend and political ally.
Investigators continue to search for a motive in the killing of Charlie Kirk. On Monday, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said authorities are trying to determine whether 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson had any accomplices.
