The contribution Southern Baptists make to the Cooperative Program is extremely personal, even though the overwhelming majority of Southern Baptists won’t personally clean out a single home in the city that bore the brunt of Hurricane Ian’s fury.

The importance of the Cooperative Program can be seen in action as Southern Baptists across the country prepare and mobilize to provide relief to hurricane victims on the East Coast.

Ian made landfall Sept. 28 in the Punta Gorda/Cape Coral area as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 145 mph. A “catastrophic” storm surge, winds and flooding came with it, the National Weather Service said.
