Jerry Falwell Jr. is suing Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, claiming that his former employer has withheld $8.5 million in retirement benefits that were previously promised to him. 

In the documentary, the narrative of which is driven by Giancarlo Granda, the Falwells are portrayed as sexually abusive and emotionally coercive, all while gaining influence in the evangelical political machine.

A new Hulu documentary is set to follow the sex scandal involving Jerry Falwell Jr., his wife Becki, and pool boy Giancarlo Granda. The story will apparently highlight Granda’s perspective. 

A little more than a month after a Vanity Fair profile on Jerry Falwell Jr. caused a stir in evangelical circles, it has been announced that Lionsgate Television will adapt the article into a limited scripted series. 

Falwell reiterated multiple times that he never said he had walked away from the Christian faith, and any suggestion that he had is a misrepresentation of what the Vanity Fair profile said.

Among the revelations is Falwell’s admission that he’s not “a religious person.” People think that “because of my last name,” he says, “but I’m not. My goal was to make them realize I was not my dad.”

Jerry Falwell Jr. is asking a court in Virginia to dismiss a lawsuit Liberty University filed over his headline-grabbing departure last year as leader of the evangelical school his father founded.
