I would like to challenge you with a thought concerning those we have in places of leadership in our worship ministries, and how to help your people become better worshippers.

I love leading God’s people in worship. I have been blessed to have led Sunday worship teams at home and around the world for over 30 years. Here are a few things that I have learned along the way.

Here are some practical tips I’ve drawn from others, and from my own experience as a worship leader seeking to grow in sensitivity to the Holy Spirit during gathered worship.

Emotionally healthy worship leaders know how to be vulnerable because they know who they are.

I have sung at hundreds of weddings over the years, and had never been asked to lead worship before. I had never considered a time of congregational worship a part of a wedding ceremony. Call it wedding worship.

The greatest challenge to authentic Christian worship seems to be a crumbling foundation of authentic Christian faith.

Most of the respondents said they were “delighted” or “surprised,” and that the one event made guests return to the church.

Some spontaneity in your worship sets will encourage the community to engage in unique and fresh ways in the midst of a service.
