4. Create Bible journaling or reflection nights.
Host a night where teens can reflect on passages about peace and worry. Give them prompts to write about their feelings and how God’s truth applies. Art, music, and quiet time can make this experience especially powerful.
5. Normalize struggle while pointing to spiritual hope.
Finally, know that many teens believe that strong Christians shouldn’t feel anxious. Break that myth by sharing examples of biblical figures who battled fear (David, Elijah, Paul). Explain that faith and mental health struggles can coexist and that seeking help is wise.
Bible Passages About Anxiety
Here are several Scriptures (all NIV) to help teenagers navigate worries:
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Psalm 94:19 “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
