On Sept. 22, Christian singer Forrest Frank told his 6.1 million Instagram followers that “Jesus moved this week” after millions witnessed Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, forgive her husband’s assassin at a memorial service.
Charlie Kirk cofounded Turning Point USA (TPUSA) at the age of 18 and led the organization until he was fatally shot on Wednesday, Sept. 10, while speaking during his The American Comeback Tour stop at Utah Valley University. Kirk was 31.
In a previous video, Frank shared that he has lost over 30,000 followers because he positively reacted to a clip of Kirk talking about the influence Frank had on Gen Z. Yet, despite losing those followers, Frank’s social media presence continues to grow.
“Jesus moved this week…I’m equally encouraged and sobered,” Frank posted in the caption next to his video. “I saw fruit all around me in so many facets and yet others around me did not. There is much confusion, theories, motives, assumptions, sides, etc. In the midst of the chaos, this is the hour to run to Jesus, the Word, Holy Spirit, and churches that teach sound doctrine.”
Frank followed up his comment by sharing 2 Timothy 4:3-5:
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
In his video, Frank shared a clip of Erika forgiving her husband’s assassin. “The Bible says you will know them by their fruit, and when we look at the fruit from this past week, churches are busting out the seams,” Frank said.
Frank shared that people have been reaching out to him asking for help. “I feel something. I feel the shift,” he explained. “Dormant, lukewarm Christians are coming alive, waking up, and getting bold.”
He continued, “We have a widow who is forgiving the man who assassinated her husband. We have the gospel of Jesus being shared on a huge platform. Political figures saying that Jesus Christ is Lord, he’s the only way to the Father, look at the fruit.”
