Earlier this week on “The Voice,” Kirbi, a 24-year-old contestant from Florence, Alabama, received a four-chair turn during blind auditions after singing for KING + COUNTRY’s Grammy Award-winning song “God Only Knows.”
Following her audition, Kirbi told the judges that her faith is a big part of who she is and that she was “so excited to come on here and share that with you guys.”
“Watching my blind audition on @nbcthevoice—Yes I cried,” Kirbi posted on Instagram. “God is so good! I’m just so thankful for this opportunity, and so thankful for every single person who has shown me support and sent such kind amazing words to me.” She shared that being on the “The Voice” has been a “crazy experience that I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of.”
The first judge to commend Kirbi for her performance was former One Direction star Niall Horan. While describing her voice as “absolutely incredible,” Horan told Kirbi that the judges wait to hear voices like hers all day. “The vocal delivery you just gave there was next level,” he said.
Judge Reba McEntire praised Kirbi on her looks and voice. “You’re absolutely beautiful. You sing absolutely beautiful. You sound very grounded for as young as you are. We’re so proud to have you here,” McEntire said. “Best of luck.”
Judge Michael Bublé told Kirbi that his faith is important to him as well. “I love that you chose that song. I love your control. I love your tone,” he said. “I feel like if I turn on the radio and I heard you, I would know it was Kirbi. There’s nothing that can stop you from singing all kinds of genres.”
The final judge to comment was Snoop Dogg, who asked Kirbi if she could bring her mother onto the stage so Kirbi’s mother could hear what he was about to tell the contestant.
“Your mother did such an amazing job with keeping you grounded and raising you the right way, and she should be commended,” Snoop Dogg said. “So that’s why I want her to stand by your side while I say what I’m gonna say to you.”
