On the Nov. 5 episode of her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast, Sadie Robertson Huff spoke with husband Christian Huff about what they’re learning about marriage, parenting, and following Jesus. During a wide-ranging conversation, the couple answered viewers’ questions about their family, faith, and struggles.
Sadie and Christian, who got married in 2019, are the parents of three young girls, including a 3-month-old baby. Their family appears in the “Duck Dynasty: The Revival,” which began airing this summer. Sadie’s grandfather, family patriarch Phil Robertson, died in May.
On this week’s podcast, the couple described the “hecticness” of life lately and how they stay connected with God and with each other. The outspoken Christians admitted they’ve had “lots of arguments lately” but said God is “refining” them—and they remain “willing to grow [and] learn.”

Sadie, 28, reflected, “I cannot imagine the past six years of our life not being rooted in Jesus Christ, not having a foundation of faith that we both were able to come back to when we were both struggling, when we both were going through something that was crazy or wild.” Even during good times, she added, having God as your foundation is “essential.”
Sadie Robertson Huff on the Wisdom of Proverbs
While discussing the challenges of disciplining young children, Sadie Robertson Huff and husband Christian Huff talked about the importance of controlling your emotions and your words. Christian, 27, admitted it’s tempting to give in to their daughters to avoid tantrums but that he wants to instill important life lessons from a young age.
The couple tries to debrief key parenting decisions, they said, to see how they can better handle certain situations in the future. Sadie has been listening to the book of Proverbs, saying she needed “some wisdom in my life right now.” Through Scripture, she said she is “learning how to wrestle my problems out with the Lord and not with just people.”
Sadie also has been embracing the concepts of taking instruction from others, practicing humility, and “the power of holding your tongue.”
In response to a question about what marital topics need more attention, Sadie listed confessing sin to each other and honestly admitting struggles. Couples can still have a strong bond even when challenges arise, Sadie emphasized. “You can actually have a great marriage and also have some bumps in the road,” she said.
The couple also talked about introducing their children to Scripture, with Sadie noting that kids are “never too young” to learn about their Creator.
