On Wednesday, Aug. 27, Forrest Frank thanked Cory Asbury for being honest in Asbury’s apology for poking fun at what Frank described as “probably the most traumatic moment of my life.”
Songs about injuries quickly became a trend after Frank released several successful songs following an accident in which he fractured his L3 and L4 vertebrae. Frank detailed his journey on social media, including his healing, which he and others believe was miraculous.

The “Lemonade” singer posted a video on social media calling out Christian artists, particularly Asbury, for using Frank’s injury as a way to poke fun at Frank. His emotional state led him to start writing a song titled “Misunderstood,” and Frank asked if Asbury would collaborate on it.
Asbury responded with a video apologizing for the song he created, saying, “Man, I never meant to poke fun at anything that you were going through.” Asbury, who is known for his hit song “Reckless Love,” shared that he can relate to people jumping on a hot trend in order to get some notoriety from it. He also told Frank that he’d join him on his song, and he shared verse he had written.

The caption Frank posted next to his social media video included the verse Matthew 18:15:
“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over” ✝️ This isn’t a us vs them. It’s One body vs the enemy. And I repent of times i’ve pointed a finger behind closed doors vs going straight to the person. “Thank you, Cory, for being honest and real,” Frank said in response to Asbury’s apology. “As someone who has come across your content a lot, I’ll admit I am someone who has looked at stuff you’ve posted and been like, ‘What’s up with this dude?’”
Frank said, “I’m not saying I’m better,” as he continued, explaining that he has “kind of this one-track mind of like, I used to be lost, and then Jesus saved my life, and I’m going to try my hardest to dedicate every iota of energy towards sharing that, and especially on social media.”
“Because I’m like, okay, people are falling, and so I want to protect my flock. I want to protect their eyes, their ears,” Frank added. “Lost people are watching and that’s just kind of the stance that I take.”
