The morning of her husband’s death, Erika, Kirk’s wife of four years, posted Psalm 46:1 on X: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Not long after her post, Kirk was assassinated in front of a crowd of college students.

“My friend Charlie Kirk was murdered today by a coward,” McCoy said. “His life will be remembered for many wonderful things.”
“He built it all with the power of the spoken word,” McCoy continued. “He never used violence but was threatened every day with violence by those who couldn’t contend with logic and truth and now they have done to my friend what evil always does; it takes away life.”
