Christian actor Chris Pratt has filled his social feed with movie releases, meaningful reflections, goofy clips, birthday shout-outs to his mom, and recently, prayer. Pratt invited viewers to pray and then “go outside” and “reach out to somebody in need.”
“Lord, fill me with strength to turn my attention toward you,” Pratt prayed.
Chris Pratt Interrupted 10 Million People and Invited Them To Pray
Pratt recognized that people are going through a lot right now, and tensions continue to rise. He led fans and viewers to pray, and this isn’t the first time the actor has publicly mentioned his practice of prayer.
After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Pratt was one of many to express his sorrow and call for God’s intervention. He posted on social media that he prayed for Kirk before Kirk passed and “for his wife and young children, for our country.” Pratt continued, “We need God’s grace. God help us.”
Whether it was related to the recent shootings or because life, in general, is just so hard, Pratt posted a video calling viewers to stop and pray.
“Lord, you say, ‘Be still and know that I am God,’ Psalm 46:10,” Pratt began.
He knew that as people scrolled past his video, some were struggling. Some were distracted by busyness. Some were simply fatigued.
“In this moment, please Lord, calm my restless mind. Quiet my anxious heart,” Pratt prayed. “Help me set aside distractions and choose what gives life and gives peace.”
Pratt then quoted another Scripture—focusing on the peace that can seem elusive in everyday life.
“Isaiah 26:3: ‘You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on you,'” he said, concluding, “Lord, fill me with strength to turn my attention toward you, that I find rest and joy in your presence. Amen.”
Pratt gave viewers a choice: “You can continue scrolling, or you can turn your phone off and go outside. Might I suggest the latter?”
