Through devotional-style Instagram posts about Jesus and the gospel, Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Nate Carter is encouraging fans to lean into their Christian faith.
Carter, 23, played college football for the UConn Huskies and Michigan State Spartans. He signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL draft. He is currently third on the Falcons’ depth chart for his position.
More than the occasional Bible reference, Carter’s Instagram page is filled with lengthy posts about following Jesus. In one pinned post, Carter explores the question, “What is the Gospel?”

“God created everything good—including us,” the post reads. “He made us to know Him, love Him, and live in perfect relationship with Him.”
The post continues, “Humanity sinned. We chose our own way instead of God’s. Sin broke our relationship with Him…The result of our sin is separation from God—both now and forever. We deserve death and no amount of good deeds can fix this gap.”
“God sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us. He lived perfectly, died in our place, and rose again,” the post reads. “Salvation is a free gift. But we must receive it by faith. Turn from sin and trust in Jesus as Lord.”
In the caption of the post, Carter encouraged followers to respond to the gospel message by giving their lives to Jesus.
In another post, Carter wrote, “We often hear that the Gospel saves us from hell, sin, and judgment. That’s true, but have you ever stopped to realize it also saves us for something infinitely greater: God Himself?”

“We are not only saved from sin, death, and judgment…we are saved for God Himself, for something greater, eternal, and beautiful,” wrote Carter.
