If we realize we’re utterly undeserving, suddenly the world comes alive. Doesn’t knowing that you deserve eternal Hell but instead will live with Jesus in Heaven, in unending happiness, put any day in perspective?

It is entirely possible for a ministry leader to love title more than task. But, according to Augustine, a ministry leader who loves title more than task is not a good ministry leader.

One reason we look for spiritual shortcuts is our modern age where shortcuts and rapid results abound. If technology can relieve illnesses and make our jobs easier, it surely can give rest to our souls, right?

Regardless of where a person sits on the spectrum between complementarian and egalitarian, it is difficult to argue that women cannot or should not benefit from attending seminary.

Burnout is easy to accomplish. In fact, it’s our default destination when all we do is coast along. If you’re a pastor or ministry leader, let me challenge you to make three bold decisions today, and every day hereafter.

Jesus has succeeded in every way that we have failed, and with Christ in us, we discover a new capacity through Him to get up and try again.

Influence is always based on trust. So, ultimately, that’s what we are discussing in this post. Building trust that gains influence.
