Fun Bible Activities for Kids: 3 Easy Devotions for Elementary Kids

3. A Full Plate

Use this devotion to discuss committing plans to God.

You’ll need:

  • a Bible
  • paper plates
  • pens

Have kids each quickly draw on a plate the plans they have coming up. They can include activities, sports, trips, or specific goals.

Ask:

  • What do you think it means to have a “full plate”?

Say: Having a full plate is a way of saying you’re very busy.

Read aloud Proverbs 16:3.

Ask:

  • Look at your full plate. What’s a way you can do what this Bible verse says?
  • Are there things you’d like to add or take off your plate? Explain.

Have kids all throw their plates into the air. Then have them pick up someone else’s plate.

Say: Take home the plate you picked up. Use it as a reminder to pray for that person. Allow time for kids to pray for the other person. Then close in prayer.
