Christian apologist Dr. Frank Turek responded recently to political commentator Megyn Kelly’s bewilderment and anger at God over the murder of activist Charlie Kirk. At a couple of points during Turek’s appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly wondered how God could have allowed Kirk to be assassinated.

“As a man of faith, and I am a woman of faith, but you know your Bible much better than I do,” Kelly said to Turek, “how, how, how could a loving God allow that devil to take this angel from us?”

Turek answered, “That is the hardest question to answer, Megyn. But one thing we do know is that it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t care, because his own Son who is innocent was put on a cross to save us from our own iniquities.”

Megyn Kelly and Frank Turek Discuss Charlie Kirk Assassination

Megyn Kelly is a journalist, attorney, and media personality who has worked for Fox News and NBC. “The Megyn Kelly Show,” launched in 2019, currently has over 4 million subscribers. Turek was a close friend and mentor of Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk, who was murdered on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. Turek rode in the SUV that took Kirk to a hospital after Kirk was shot in the neck.

Turek appeared on the Sept. 19 episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” which premiered two days before Charlie Kirk’s memorial service. Kelly and Turek discussed Kirk and Turek’s relationship, Erika Kirk’s resilience, and why God would let Kirk be murdered.

In his response to Kelly about why God would allow a “devil” to take such an “angel” from the world, Turek said we know God cares about the evil we face because God sent Jesus to die for the world.

“An infinitely just God can’t allow any of us to go unpunished. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be infinitely just,” said Turek. “And look, we’re all fallen. We all need a savior. None of us have lived the perfect life like Jesus has. But Jesus did live the perfect life, so he’s our substitute.”

“He takes the wrath of [an] infinitely just God upon himself so you, me, and everyone else who’s committed sins can be forgiven of those sins and also given the righteousness of God. That’s why it’s the greatest story ever told,” said Turek. “Obviously, what this shooter did is horrific evil, but of course, we’ve all done evil ourselves—maybe not to that extent.”

“I just feel like this doesn't make sense to me. I'm angry. I'm mad at God,” Megyn Kelly told Dr. Frank Turek.Click to Post
