Following a public display of forgiveness, Christian artists Forrest Frank and Cory Asbury were both at Antioch, a nondenominational church in Waco, Texas, to share more of their stories of redemption and reconciliation.

“Forrest Frank + Cory Asbury + church = [mind blown],” Frank posted to X.

Forrest Frank Shares His Story of Redemption and Reconciliation With Cory Asbury at Antioch

As Antioch entered into a three-day prayer and fasting event, Pastor Jimmy Seibert invited Forrest Frank to share his story with the congregation. Seibert referenced that the church had just finished a three-day prayer intensive when Frank’s life changed as a student at nearby Baylor University.

“I was at my lowest point,” Frank began. “I was full of insecurity and anxiety, and I was hanging out with the wrong people. I was doing the wrong things, and I didn’t really know which way to go. I was making my own decisions.”

Frank was sitting in a campus coffee shop with extra time on his hands and felt an urge to go to church. He described it “like an idea in my head.” His brother had attended Antioch, so Frank was familiar with the church. He was also friends with Seibert’s son, Caleb.

“I believed in God, and I believed in Jesus,” Frank explained. “But I wanted to live life for myself.”

Thinking it was about time for a weekly college ministry event, Frank walked into the church just as the three days of prayer and fasting was concluding.

“Immediately when I walked in, I felt like this weight was lifted off of me,” Frank explained. He said he was “tired of running” and “experienced the fullness” of worship.

“So, here I am—10 years later or so—and still saying that Jesus Christ is the way and the truth and the life,” said Frank. “And he even gets better.”

Frank shared that earlier this year, he broke his back in a freak skateboarding accident. He was public with his accident and recovery—and wrote songs as he was lying in bed. Fellow Christian artist Cory Asbury made and posted a video mocking Frank as he was lying in bed recovering. Frank felt as if the “Christian community” was “roasting” him.
