“Was this for real or a hoax?” Joshua Broome posted on Instagram as he reacted to OnlyFans star Lily Phillips’ recent baptism.

Broome was a star in the adult film industry for six years before coming to faith in Jesus and becoming a pastor and ministry speaker. Broome now travels sharing his testimony and equipping the church to fight against sexual sin.

On Thursday (Jan. 1), Lily Phillips, a 24-year-old OnlyFans star who went viral for sleeping with over 100 men in a day, posted a video of herself getting baptized. Phillips is also known for setting a supposed record for having sex with 1,113 men in 12 hours.

It does not appear that Phillips plans to stop creating adult content. In fact, she hopes to connect with fellow adult content creators who share a similar religious experience. “I think that there are a lot of Christian girls who are in this industry but people might not know it, and they might not feel comfortable talking about it because of the judgment,” Phillips said.

Joshua Broome: ‘Only God Knows Her Heart’

“So a lot of people have asked me about the legitimacy of Lily Phillips’ baptism, and I want to be honest, I don’t know her personally,” Broome told his social media followers. “I don’t know the legitimacy of her baptism or her faith. That’s not something that I know for sure, and not something I can determine. Only God knows her and her heart.”

“But I do know this,” Broome continued. “God is not limited by imperfect people, unclear motives or messy beginnings.”

Broome shared how he has read stories of people who have worked on the set of “The Chosen.” These were people who didn’t have faith, he said, “and they were simply portraying biblical characters or reading Scripture as part of a role, and yet something happened. Scripture did what only Scripture could do. The Holy Spirit, it entered the space, and hearts were changed.”

“That doesn’t surprise me, because that’s what happened in my own life,” Broome said. “Before Jesus rescued me, I was in the porn industry. He didn’t rescue me because I had the right intentions or the right words.”

“He rescued me by his Spirit. He draws us to himself through the prayers of his people and through his Word—I wasn’t trying to fix myself,” said Broome.

“We often underestimate intercessory prayer, because God can do what we can’t, and his Spirit can accomplish what our words never could,” Broome said.

“The Bible says that God’s Word is living and active [and] is sharper than a double edged sword, dividing soul and spirit, bone and marrow,” he continued. “This means that Scripture doesn’t just inform us—it exposes us, it cuts past behavior, and it reveals what’s actually going on in our heart.”
