In a press release, the Adrian Police Department said that while Goble’s sentence “far exceeded” the normal prison term for the crimes to which he pleaded no contest, his sentence reflects the overall impact of his crimes on the community and the victims.
“The Adrian Police Department and the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office would like acknowledge all who came forward to report being victimized by Michael Ronald Goble,” the Adrian Police Department said. “Coming forward to report sexual abuse is an act of profound bravery often taken at great personal cost. You had the courage to confront your abuser and stand up for what is right. Thank you for your strength—your bravery is to be commended.”

In an separate case, Goble faces more charges in Louisiana, where yet another underaged victim has come forward. Goble will be extradited to face trial.
