“[Next], go get counseling,” he added. “Tell someone. In mental health, the most dangerous place to be is convincing yourself that it’s okay to isolate yourself and shut yourself out of the world and away from the world.”
“No. 4, go help someone else in need. There is this incredible way that God has designed us and created us to actually be hands and feet to help someone else,” Vujicic said. “It is easy to play the victim card. I could have played the victim card. But when you take your focus off what you want, what you need, and you help someone else, that’s how God created us to be a family—to be here for one another.”
Vujicic’s final point was to hold on to a Bible verse.
“So for me, when I’m going through hell if you will, Philippians 4:13: ‘For I can endure all things through Christ who strengthens me,’” he said. “I know my plans have failed. I know my strength has failed. I failed. Friends have failed in mine. They failed me. My family failed me. You know, every everything failed. But God never failed.”
“Going back to God and [saying], ‘God, I don’t know what your plan is, but help me to trust you. I have no strength. Carry me.’ So I’m glad beyond words that I didn’t actually go through with the suicide,” Vujicic said.
“Our mind plays games on you. It’s spiritual warfare, so pray, ask someone to pray with you, because you don’t have to walk this life alone,” he encouraged. “Don’t ever give up. Whatever broken pieces you have, you just don’t know what God has for you.”
Vujicic concluded, “If I actually gave up, look at what I would have missed out on. My wife, my four kids, and a ministry that’s enabled me to preach the gospel to 150 million people around the world by age 40.”
“No Limbs, No Limits: The NickV Story” is set to release on Sept. 25 in theaters through Fathom. Vujicic hopes churches will rally behind the project to help spread its message of faith, resilience, and purpose.
