But in an interview last November, Hendrick told the Associated Press that though the situation was unpleasant and “unfortunate,” the school was “dealing with it” and being “very transparent.” He added, “Things that happened years ago, whenever it did happen, they’ll make it right and move on.”

Falwell remains an avid Liberty booster on social media. Yesterday, in a tweet featuring a photo of QB Willis, Falwell wrote: “Historic day @LibertyU yesterday! All 32 NFL teams visited campus including Steelers HC Mike Tomlin to watch @malikwillis – the goal for @libertyfootball that my father and I devoted most of our careers to achieving and it is just the start!”

Earlier this month, Falwell encouraged Liberty to “search for a new president with proper academic credentials (doctorate level degree from a top university), a must for one of the US’s largest universities.” The next day, he clarified that he wasn’t disparaging Prevo, who “left retirement for a very stressful temporary job.”
