Recently, a company of pastors--of which I have been a part for 8 or so years––was discussing what practical steps a minister can take in order to improve his preaching.

I’ve learned that if I prioritize a few key choices, my life and leadership dramatically improve and my ministry becomes more effective. I encourage these three priorities for every pastor.

Perfectionism often leads to a less than desirable outcome. 

Whenever we talk about church growth, the first thing that comes to mind is attendance. However, while helpful, it is not the best metric.

Tied to being a dynamic leader is innovation. To be innovative you must have one eye on where you are and another eye on where things will be. The innovator is able to build a path between the two!

When you realize that your spiritual growth can be an ongoing, never-ending process of renewal and development, each new day matters as much as the last.

On every walk, I spend time worshipping the Lord, bringing my requests before him, and interceding on behalf of my family, our ministry, and the next generation.

An annual pastoral review is a helpful way to help pastors remain energized and effective in their ministries.
