In a statement posted to Twitter Monday evening responding to the “latest Democratic attack,” Walker said:
This is a flat-out lie – and I deny this in the strongest possible terms.
This is another repugnant hatchet job from a Democrat activist disguised as a reporter who has obsessively attacked my family and tried to tear me down since this race started. He’s harassed friends of mine, asking if I fathered their children. He’s called my children “secret” because I didn’t want to use them as campaign props in a political campaign. Now, they’re using an anonymous source to further slander me. They will do anything to hold onto power. It’s disgusting, gutter politics.
I’m not taking this anymore. I [sic] planning to sue the Daily Beast for this defamatory lie. It will be filed tomorrow morning.
It is unclear whether Walker has filed a lawsuit against The Daily Beast at the time of publication of this article.
Christian Walker has previously campaigned for his father, but says he only did so one time and is now done with his father’s hypocrisy. In a video posted to Instagram Tuesday, Christian said, “I stayed silent as the atrocities committed against my mom were downplayed. I stayed silent when it came out that my father Herschel Walker had all these random kids across the country, none of whom he raised.”
The 23-year-old (who is an outspoken supporter of Florida governor Ron DeSantis) challenged “family values people” who stand behind his father, saying, “He has four kids, four different women, [he] wasn’t in the house raising one of them.”
Christian says he was quiet for “lie after lie after lie.” Then the story about the abortion broke and he saw his father’s handwriting in the get-well card, as well as the receipts. “He gets on Twitter, he lies about it,” said Christian. “Ok, I’m done. Done. Everything has been a lie.”
