Brandon Lake posted a video of himself watching Bodie perform and cheering the contestant on. Lake told his followers that his wife, Brittany, had signed him up for “The Voice,” and that he was asked to do a private audition, but he refused because “God told me that wasn’t going to be my story.” Lake nevertheless felt that he got to be part of “The Voice” through Bodie.

“Seeing somebody else take a song that I got to be a small part of and release it in front of what, six to eight million people watching tonight?” he said. “And putting them into an atmosphere of praise and worship, and God didn’t need me to do it.” Lake said he was “very grateful” that Bodie chose to sing “Gratitude” and to lead the country in worship.
Christian artist Phil Wickham commented on Lake’s post, “Yesss👏👏👏👏 so rad Brandon!!!” Bodie replied to Lake, saying, “brooooo you’re such an incredible inspiration to me and so many others. such an incredible honor to sing this song on TV. love u brother.”
