West claimed that Jewish people have “toyed” with him and “blackball anyone” who opposes their “agenda.”

In the following weeks, brands such as Adidas, Gap, Foot Locker, Balenciaga, and JP Morgan Chase, who were closely affiliated with West, cut ties with the successful rapper and entrepreneur. It has been estimated that West lost roughly $2 billon dollars in a span of 24 hours.

That didn’t stop West from continuing his antisemitic campaign. On Oct. 28, 2022, West appeared on popular YouTuber Tim Pool’s “Timcast IRL” show to discuss his dinner with former president Donald Trump, which received national backlash due to West’s recent antisemitic rhetoric.

During the show, West alleged that Jewish people were trying to put him in jail and said that “God is using me. He’s breaking me down, removing all of the, you know, ‘richest person,’ all of this, so I can serve him. And the more and more those things are taken away from me, the more I can be empty and be a vessel and be able to be used.”

Although West’s Twitter and Instagram accounts have been unlocked for months, he has been rather quiet of late—until his post over the weekend.

In the later months of 2022, West announced his intention to run for president in 2024. He received less than 100,000 votes during his 2020 run.
