“Y’all really gonna boycott @ChickfilA?” said radio host Erick Erickson. “When you start boycotting every business as ‘woke’ the average American will think you’re full of crap. Yep, the company has a DEI page. It also has this,” he noted, tweeting a screenshot of the company’s corporate purpose of glorifying God.
“Y’all,” tweeted Anna Caudill. “Even Tennessee’s new HQ @Smith_WessonInc has a Diversity & Inclusion guy. How many US owned companies is your witch-hunt going to come after?” Caudill was a friend of Dr. Katherine Koonce, former head of The Covenant School in Nashville. Koonce was slain in the mass shooting that occurred at the school in March.
“Evangelicals boycotting Chick-Fil-A for being too woke is a sure sign there’s nothing left in the moment to slap awake,” said author and social scientist Dr. Samuel Perry. “Just change the name to ‘white religious reactionaries,’ cuz that’s all there is.”
A Chick-fil-A spokesperson declined to comment on the record.
