Attendees of this past weekend’s Chosen Insiders Conference got a first look at the teaser trailer for Season 4, which dropped online Monday morning. “It’s time,” Jesus says at the beginning of the trailer as “What Wondrous Love Is This?” plays hauntingly in the background.

Viewers see a series of scenes that include Roman guards, Jewish leaders, Mary Magdalene, and Jesus and his disciples, along with a voiceover of Jesus. He describes a “series of events” being set off, saying, “My followers won’t understand. The Son of Man must suffer many things.” Someone responds, “But you are the Son of God.”
“I know it’s hard,” Jesus says. “Man makes it much harder when he leans on his own understanding.”
“I dread what is to come,” Jesus states as the trailer concludes, adding that his story is “nearing its end.”
