Gateway Church Settled Sexual Abuse Lawsuit Involving Minor Prior to Morris’ Resignation; Joyce Meyer Withdraws From Speaking Engagement

“I can confirm that Joyce Meyer has decided to withdraw from teaching at Gateway Church,” a spokesperson for Meyer said. “The ministry has not made any public statements about this matter. But there are many examples readily available of Joyce Meyer strongly condemning all types of abuse and her compassion for survivors.”

Meyer spoke at Gateway Church earlier this year in May.

Likewise, Dr. Ben Carson will not be fulfilling his speaking engagement at Gateway.

Carson’s spokesperson told The Christian Post that “given the circumstances, the church asked us to cancel our earlier commitment in order to allow for the healing process to take place. We are praying for their community during this difficult time.”

Others who were scheduled to speak in Gateway Church’s summer series included Lisa Harper, Albert Tate, Dr. Tony Evans, Tim Barton, Joakim Lundqvist, and Chris Hodges.
