Gospel Singer Said She’s Being Harassed Online

Victory Boyd claims she was offered an 8% share of profits from “Telekinesis,” which might bolster her claim of authorship. In addition, her name is listed as a composer of the track on Spotify.

In summer 2023, Boyd received a songwriting credit in metadata when “Telekinesis” streamed. But she said she didn’t know the song was intended for commercial release.

Boyd is also suing Swiss watch company Audemars Piguet, which used Scott’s “Telekinesis” in a major ad campaign. Although the company asked Boyd’s permission, she said she did not grant it. “So now we have all these layers of violations against me,” she said, calling it a case of David vs. Goliath.

In a Jan. 12 Instagram post, Boyd sings “On the Basis of My God” in front of a courthouse. A caption reads, “POV [point of view]: going to court against Travis Scott and declaring VICTORY on the basis of my GOD.” The musician added that she will prevail and thanked people for their support.
