“One guy I finally became friends with—which we did not get along at all—was Roddy Piper and I got real close at the end,” said Hogan. “Before he passed away, man, we were on the phone every day talking bout Scripture and he wanted to understand about accepting Christ as a Savior.”
The former competitor “had some conversations and…he started asking me about my spirituality,” Hogan recalled. “[Piper] really didn’t connect, but he was very curious.”
Just two days after their last conversation, Hogan received a text from Piper who admitted to now “walking with Jesus.”
The retired wrestler has been outspoken about his beliefs—spiritually and politically. Hogan publicly supported President Trump before he was elected for a second term. He called Trump a “man of God,” his “hero,” and a “gladiator”—grateful for a potential second term.
“We got America back. We’ve got a second chance. We’ve repented to our Lord and Savior. He’s healing the land. He’s healing the people,” he said. “We’re back, Jack.”
Hogan addressed the public at the Republican National Convention, supporting both Trump and J.D. Vance so the two can “straighten this country out for all the real Americans.”
“And at the end of the day, with our leader up there,” Hogan said to the crowd. Pointing to Trump, he added, “My hero, that gladiator, we’re going to bring America back together—one real American at a time, brother.”
Hulk Hogan Still Struggles With Restlessness in the Evenings, Wife Sky Has Helped
The man behind “Hulkamania” endured 10 intense back surgeries attempting to correct the many injuries he sustained as a wrestler. Throughout his recovery, he “found peace through faith after the physical toll” his life has taken.
Hogan spoke of how he struggled with “so much turbulence” in his life that he couldn’t calm down physically in the evenings.
“From always being physical my whole life, about 8:00 at night, I start rumbling,” said Hogan. “I’m used to getting in the ring about 10:30 or 11.”
His body misses “breaking this crazy sweat and having another man being on me,” so the retired wrestler needed to find a physical outlet. He has a full gym in his house to relieve some of the physical tension, and the “turbulence” has gotten much better. Hogan also credits his third wife, Sky, for much of his improvement. He and Sky Daily were married in 2023.
“She’s just been a godsend,” admitted Hogan. “She’s just been amazing as far as outthinking me, out-talking me, and talking me down.”
The two have a blended family with step-children and grandchildren. “She’s been my best friend,” Hogan said of Sky.
