Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, sent President Donald Trump a text message in which Huckabee expressed his confidence that Trump would hear God’s voice regarding how to handle the conflict between Israel and Iran and that God “spared” Trump from being assassinated for a special purpose.

“Mr President, God spared you in Butler, PA to be the most consequential President in a century—maybe ever. The decisions on your shoulders I would not want to be made by anyone else,” Huckabee told Trump in a text. Trump posted the text to his Truth Social account, along with the comment, “From Mike Huckabee, a Pastor, Politician, Ambassador, and Great Person!”

“You have many voices speaking to you Sir, but there is only ONE voice that Matters,” Huckabee said. “HIS voice I am your appointed servant in this land and am available for you but I do not try to get in your presence often because I trust your instincts.”

Mike Huckabee Shelters in Israel As War Against Iran Continues

On Friday, June 13, Israel attacked Iran, targeting Iran’s nuclear resources and killing a number of the country’s top military leaders, as well as key nuclear scientists. The attack included a strike against Natanz, the main facility where Iran enriches uranium.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel had targeted Iran’s top officials, Natanz, and Iran’s ballistic missile program. The initial attack was “the first stage” of a broader plan and was “preemptive” due to Israel’s concern that Iran was close to being able to launch a nuclear attack.

Netanyahu said that Israel’s goal is to “roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival” and that Israel will continue attacking Iran for “as many days as it takes to remove this threat.” Iran, which has denied developing nuclear weapons, has responded that it will retaliate against Israel with “harsh punishment.” On Thursday, June 12, the U.N. nuclear watchdog said Iran was not complying with nuclear non-proliferation agreements.

In a statement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied that the U.S. had any involvement in Israel’s attack and warned Iran against retaliating against the U.S. Prior to Israel’s attack, the Trump administration had been in talks with Iran, attempting to strike a deal that would stop Iran’s nuclear program. A sixth round of talks was set to take place between the two countries on Sunday, June 15, but that meeting was canceled.

Uncertainty remains about whether or not the U.S. will intervene in the conflict between Iran and Israel. Friday night, Iran retaliated by launching hundreds of ballistic missiles against Israel.

Masses of people are evacuating Tehran, Iran’s capital, as the countries continue to exchange fire. As of Tuesday, the fifth day of the war, at least 224 people have been killed in Iran and at least 24 people have been killed in Israel. Israel claimed Tuesday that it killed Gen. Ali Shadmani, a top Iranian military official appointed to his post four days ago after his predecessor was killed.

After Israel launched its first attack, Trump urged Iran to make a deal and expressed support for Israel, but it remains unclear whether or not the U.S. will intervene.

Huckabee has described himself as an “unapologetic, unreformed Zionist” and praised Trump’s support for “the sovereignty of Israel” during Trump’s first administration. In 2008, Huckabee said, “There’s really no such thing as a Palestinian,” and in 2017 said that he refused to use the term “West Bank,” instead calling the area “Judea and Samaria.”

“No President in my lifetime has been in a position like yours,” Huckabee told Trump in his text to the president. “Not since Truman in 1945. I don’t reach out to persuade you. Only to encourage you.”
