Streamer and professional gamer Tyler Blevins, known as “Ninja,” told viewers in a recent stream of him playing “Fortnite” on Twitch that he and his wife have been going to church every Sunday and that he is working on being less “hypocritical” and not losing his temper online. Blevins has over 19 million followers on his Twitch channel and made headlines in March for telling his followers that “Jesus is King.”
“Ninja giving his life to God is the biggest streamer glowup ever. Congrats brother, welcome home,” said one of Blevins’ followers in the chat of a Twitch stream last week. The video is titled, “NEW FORTNITE SEASON | God is great!” [Editor’s note: This video contains language some might find offensive.]
“Thank you,” Blevins responded. “Kinda hard to even think about my time when I wasn’t—you know what I mean?”

Tyler Blevins: ‘Jess and I Are Going to Church Every Sunday’
Tyler Blevins is a competitive online gamer who rose to fame in 2017 through playing “Fortnite Battle Royale.” Blevins is considered to be a key part of the success of “Fortnite,” and at one point he had the most-followed channel on Twitch.
During the livestream last week, Blevins was interacting with his followers in the chat about his experience playing “Marvel Rivals,” which he recently quit because of the “toxicity” of that community.
Blevins told viewers he was trying not to be “that person” any more. That is, he doesn’t want to scream at people “at the top of my lungs and berate them and insult them,” although at times he might still “pop off every once in a while” and “lose my cool.”
He pushed back on someone who said Blevins is not taking enough breaks from streaming. The streamer said he takes breaks “quite often” and spends time with people he loves so he can refresh his mindset. “I’m just trying to be a better person, dude,” said Blevins, adding that he is trying “to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.”
Referring to his wife, Blevins said, “Jess and I are going through this journey, where, y’know, our relationship with God and Jesus…we’re going to church every Sunday.”
“I find myself being hypocritical a lot of the times and I don’t like that about myself,” said Blevins. “I also look back at a lot of the things that I did in the past—now, listen, I’m not saying I regret things in the past.”
“Obviously, there are things that I do,” he continued, “but, like, I can’t keep trying to better myself and trying to live biblically and also in the meanwhile tell somebody I could buy their f****** bank and foreclose their house.”
